Eleven members of a gang running an international drugs syndicate from a car bodyshop in south Wales have been jailed for more than 60 years.


A two-year police operation carried out next door to S&J Autos in Barry uncovered a stash of guns and a large drugs haul.


Cardiff Crown Court heard the gang was involved in a network supplying ecstasy brought from Spain in lemonade bottles.


The judge said he had to punish those making money “in this evil trade”.


Sentencing 11 gang members, Judge David Wyn Morgan said: “I have in mind in particular that many of the citrate generic sildenafil viagra involved erectile dysfunction impotence treatment quantities of Class A drugs and the misery and sildenafil citrate india of those affected.”

All the defendants admitted drug and other offences for their part in the syndicate which extended to Holland and the Caribbean. Two more were given suspended terms.


The court had heard how the gang had a ready supply of guns and ammunition and handled thousands of pounds of blindness causing citrate sildenafil money.


They were exposed when undercover police in Operation Panama Canal set up a marine services business next door to the workshop and befriended the drug dealers.


Prosecutor Ieuan Morris told the court: “The gang members were steeped in the drug culture and had interests in a variety of illegitimate business enterprises.


“As the undercover operation gained momentum what became apparent was the ready access and availability of firearms and ammunition.”


He said that Russell Dawson, 37, from Barry, was “pivotal” to the network.


“He talked to them [the undercover police] about schemes to supply Viagra, pornographic DVDs, forged vehicle licences and MoT certificates, contraband cigarettes and even people smuggling,” Mr Morris told the court.

“Dawson and his co-conspirators were willing to do any activity to net themselves extra revenue.”


Dawson, who was working at S&J Autos, set up meetings for the undercover police officers with dealers from Manchester.


These dealers said they could supply between 200,000 and 300,000 ecstasy pills.


The officers, who bought 10,000 pills for 45p each, were told previous batches of ecstasy had killed five users.


Dawson also said he could supply ecstasy from Spain imported in lemonade bottles.


The tablets, he added, would cost the men a few pence each.


On Thursday Dawson was jailed for 12 years after admitting five counts of conspiracy to supply drugs, namely cocaine, ecstasy and amphetamine sulphate - or speed.


Ten other gang members were given smaller sentences while two were handed suspended terms. Another man is due to be sentenced on Monday.
